Lancaster Race Series – the Hangman’s Noose 10k
Sunday 27th May 2018A new race for 2018, Lancaster Race Series return to the Castle with the ‘Hangman’s Noose 10k’ running race.
The Hangman’s Noose 10km takes place on the Sunday 27th May 2018. The race will be limited to 250 entrants , with all finishers receiving a bespoke medal.
Lancaster Castle has an interesting & dark history with ‘Hanging Corner’ being of historical importance. Lancaster was named the Hanging Town, as more people were sent to the Gallows here than anywhere else outside of London!
Race Information
Race registrations, the race finish line and the final presentation take place inside the Castle courtyards. The race starts just a short walk from Lancaster Castle at Lancaster Football club’s Giant Axe ground.
The race route is mostly rural taking in the Luneside countryside and will be relatively flat so suitable for new runners and personal best hunters! But…..be aware this race has a tough final 1/4 mile finish uphill back to the Castle!
