Please note that during this period there will be no permanent café facility available at the Castle and the ticket office will be relocated to A-Wing. Guided tours and events will continue as scheduled.

Prison Life Tours

To fit in with the selection of Lancaster Castle's Statue of Justice being chosen for inclusion in A History of Lancashire in 70 Objects Museum Manger, Colin Penny, will be leading tours on the theme of Georgian and Victorian Prison Life. Themes will include prison design, diet and work, health and hygiene, rules and regulation, punishment, and prison reform.

Tours run at 11:00 on 14 November, 21 November and 28 November.

Christmas at the Castle 2017

The people of Lancaster are invited to come and celebrate Christmas at the Castle this December with a festive fayre for all the family.

Christmas market stalls, street food, mulled wines and ciders, cakes and treats, Santas Grotto, Christmas props and Christmas music and stage programme.
