Lancaster is easily accessible by both road (M6 and A6) and rail. The castle is a five minute walk from the railway station, and there are a number of car parks, all of which are within easy walking distance. Disabled visitors are advised to ring ahead, as are coach parties.

The Judges Lodgings is a few minutes walk down Castle Hill. Other city centre museums are all within easy reach.
