Dark History Tours of the Castle
A chance to join our costumed guides as they lead you by candlelight through the dark corridors of the castle. Hear tales of murder and witchcraft, of executions and injustice, all of which form part of this building's fascinating history

Judges Lodgings Museum 2010 season
The Judges' Lodgings Museum opens on Good Friday, April 2nd for the 2010 season.
We have school holidays packed full of family friendly guided tours and workshops throughout the year.
From April 2nd - October 31st you can see 'From Earth to Gallifrey' - a familly orientated mini exhibition in the Museum of Childhood that follows Doctor Who from the 1960s to the present day.
We also give pre-booked guided group tours around the Judges' Lodgings Museum Regency period rooms learning the history of one of Lancasters oldest town houses and to enjoy our nationally important Gillow furniture collection and fine art.
You can buy great value Xplorer tickets from the museum reception.

Chris Goodier, Castle Manager, will be giving an in-depth look at the background to the story of the Lancashire Witches as well as an account of the trials themselves- all on the 398th anniversary of the executions and in the very place where the trials took place in 1612

The Loves of John Of Gaunt
Forever associated with the name of his long-term lover Katherine Swynford, John married three times and was the son of Edward III and the father of Henry IV.

Lancaster Unlocked
A city-wide event with childhood as the theme. The castle will be holding special Childrens' Tours on Saturday and Sunday, then playing host to a medieval school for knights and damsels on the Monday.
